Digital Wishes GmbH, the first start-up company founded by the Seven Miles Group, is being expanded gradually. To support further growth, an additional financing round in the mid-seven-figure range has been invested in the company. Outside funds have also been made available to the company to finance business operations. The capital in question was raised by Seven Miles Capital GmbH.

This additional financing round was necessary due to the growth of the  WISHCARD product, which had significantly exceeded the company’s plans. „The expansion of our physical distribution network has been moving forward a lot faster than we expected it to do,“ says Tom Schröder, who along with Valentin Schütt serves as managing director of Digital Wishes GmbH. WISHCARDShave been available at the supermarket chain EDEKA since late 2015, then came the distribution to Kaufland stores throughout Germany, with distribution to thousands more stores currently in the production and implementation stages.

In order to accommodate this massive growth, it became necessary to expand the production capacity of the company’s own printing centre. This meant investing in a fully automated production line, greatly increasing the production limit from the previous limit of 1,000,000 vouchers per week. In addition, the elimination of manual labour from up to 30 production assistants increases the quality of the product. As part of the renovation, the display building and production floor in a new hall area were also enlarged, with production reduced to one continuous step thanks to real-time production techniques. The renovation increased the flexibility of the printing process and reduces the stock needed in production.

In addition to the increase in sales and distribution capacity, the company’s network of partners was also significantly expanded. In the first quarter alone, the company gained more than 100 new retail partners, with the total number of redeeming spots now at more than 5,0 00 online retailers. The options available to the customer are expected to be expanded further.
